ARE YOU A CURRENT STUDENT AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA?

  • Students who have not met with a pre-health professions advisor need to REGISTER AS PRE-HEALTH STUDENTS.
  • Registration involves signing up for the Pre-Health Information Central D2L site and completing a few tasks there.
  • When you call (520-621-7763) to schedule an appointment you will be asked to complete this registration BEFORE your appointment.
  • This registration process is designed to give you some important information about what it means to be headed toward a career in the health professions.

  • Please complete our on-line version of the General Information Workshop to help us understand how best we can help you.
  • We are happy to speak with our alumni as well as others interested in pursuing a health professional career who are not yet students at The U of A.

The Pre-Health Professions Advising Center provides advising services to University of Arizona students in all majors planning to pursue a health profession. The center's advisors help students explore interests, skills, and goals and examine academic requirements for entrance to professional schools in medicine, dentistry, nursing, physical therapy, physician assistant studies and other health related professions. Individual advising, workshops, and informational resources are available to students and alumni as they prepare for the health professional school admission process.

Services

  • Academic Advising --  including assistance with interest assessment, major/minor exploration, and course selection to meet professional school admission requirements;
  • Pre-Health Professions General Information Sessions (online) -- workshops on professional school application procedures, and guest speakers from the health professions;
  • A Resource Room and web references with information about options in the health professions, volunteer clinical opportunities, professional school programs, and admission criteria;
  • A Centralized Disbursement Service for professional school letters of recommendation.
